Writer’s Workshop is my subject for the blog. For our first day of WW (Short for Writer’s Workshop) we had to go over a few basic rules before we could do any writing. After, then Mr.Singer went over the rules with the class, we had to write things that were good and bad with our summer. We did the chart by ourselves and then we did the chart with all of the class. Mr.Singer made us write our summer, but there was a switch swatch twist…. We had to write these stories from our TOES point of view! We did at least 5 minutes of writing and by the end of those 5 minutes we could participate in reading out loud to the class on what you had so far. I had a lot of fun listening to my classmate’s stories. We surely have a creative class.
Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer):
Welcome back everyone. I am excited for this school year and can already tell that this class will be a lot of fun. Each week we will be publishing our classroom blog right here on the website. I encourage EVERYONE to read what the kids and I have to say. I will usually have important dates included, important reminders, and other informative stuff to say.
Thank you everyone for your help at the beginning of the year getting ALL of the forms back to school. I know there is a lot to fill out and sign; however I do appreciate your support.
We will be starting our MAPs testing this next week. Our first subject that we will be tested on will be math. The test will be done three times this year, with the first one this next week (and continuing for three weeks), in the middle of the year, and finally at the end of the year. Our goal is to see students grow academically throughout the year. This first test is to see where the students are at the start of the year, and set the goals of what I will be teaching for the remainder of the year.
Coming up soon is picture day. September 15th bring a smile to school. Our first early release day is September 30th. We dismiss at 11:30, so be ready!
