Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer): I am in need of some materials for our science projects we are planning in the near future. We have been using the Maker Space in the STEAM lab but we are going to be doing some specific projects with growing plants, and making thermoses. If you have materials at home that are good insulators (foam, newspaper, etc.) or items that can be used for growing plants without dirt (old washcloths, 2-liter bottles, and items we can set seeds in like sawdust, shredded paper, etc.) please send them in and your child will get a $50 for each item donated.
Progress Reports are up today. This means that we added comments for any students who have a D or lower in a subject. Otherwise it is just a window of time that we want you to be checking the grades of your students. Please take some time to go on Skyward and do a check of your child’s progress. I will be going on Skyward and checking on the status of who is checking grades by the end of next week. I will send home reminders after next Friday.
Teacher requested conferences are coming up this next month. We, Mrs. Krueger and I, will be sending home a letter to a few families we would like to meet with during that day, but we will also be keeping a few time slots open in case others would like to stop in that are not expected to come. We always are willing to meet with any of you as long as time permits.
MAPs testing has come and past for all the students. We finished this week with the reading test. Last week I met with each student individually to go over the progress they had in math. We had some great improvements overall and some students were even so improved we are able to make some changes to their interventions and graduate them out. Our next MAP test is in May and that will be the time to see how the students have progressed from last year through this year. If you are interested in obtaining a copy of the MAP results, let me know and I can print one to send home. It does take a lot of paper to print them all, so please make a request.

If you are not signed up on either you can do so on the website. Contact me if you have any questions on doing this. I have also added pictures to our pictures page too.
Remember to check the assignment notebook board daily for homework updates.
BONUS: Each week I will put a challenge on here for any parent or student to try. All you have to do is give a response by Monday in the assignment notebook for me to see. If the answer is correct the student will receive $50 towards their checking account. Good Luck!
