Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer): April showers bring may flowers… I hope that the showers can end for a while now that April is coming to a close. The time for blooming in Wisconsin is on! This also means for the students to begin to show their blooming of the knowledge they have gained this year.
Next week the students will begin the last round of MAP testing where they show the growth they have made over the year. This next week they will be tested in reading and the following week will be my favorite, math. The kids have been hard at work this year and it is time for them to show how well they have done in 6th grade.
Yesterday 3rd trimester progress reports went out to families (on Skyward it is just a reminder to check grades). Please check because next week I will be sending home a reminder to those who have not checked yet. If you have not checked we will possibly have to have a meeting in person at school.
Today was the last day to turn in field trip permission slips so this means that we will be picking the chaperones to come to Discovery World with us on May 17th. Those parents who were picked will get a note tonight and a form that they will need to fill out. Thanks to everyone who asked to attend. We had a lot from my class.
Mark your calendars for May 20th as well. This is the day that the 6th graders get to shadow a 7th grader all day at Fox River Middle School. The students will get to see what a day at FR looks and feels like, they will meet teachers, and they will get to do some fun activities to bond with their soon-to-be classmates.
For upcoming important dates, including days off, PTO events, etc. go to our Calendar. This coming week is very busy with PTO events.
