News from the Reading Department (BY Wyatt): In reading we are doing a book report. We had to write a summary and then were able to pick from a list of many choices for the other part. We had all month to complete it.
News from the Music Department (By Will): Recenty we have been working on percussion. Yesterday we got into groups and started to compose our own work.
News from the Physical Education Department (By Sydney): This week in Phys. Ed, we played a game where we had to hit four tennis balls into the field with a tennis racket. The balls were labled one, two, three, and four. We had bases 1, 2 , 3, and 4. We had to match the ball number with the base number before we could get anybody out. If the batter made it to home base without the balls getting to the correct base, they got a point.
News from the Art Department (By Ally): This week we are taking home our clay projects. We are done with our projects.
Free Choice Area (By Whitney): This week was hectic . We had Monday off because of Memorial Day. We had a field trip on Tuesday. Then today on Friday we have the carnival. Sadly a lot of people in our class can only go for 10 minutes because they don’t have enough tickets.
Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer): Can you believe it? Onle one more week left! Only one more week until all the 6th graders become middle scholers. We have grown a lot over this past year. I have been impressed in the growth we have made as a class, both academically and socially.
Today we had the carnival at Trailside. It is so much fun to go around and watch the kids play in the bouncy rooms, do the activities, get face painted, enjoy sweets, etc. This was our 10th year doing the carnival and I would say it was a huge success. To help share with you the moments shared at the carnival go to https://www.flickr.com/photos/bradsinger/ to see pictures of the event. I have also put all other pictures from the year too. You can also see the pictures from our field trip this week to the Milwaukee Public Muesum too.
We will be having our final auction of the year on the last day of school. If you have anything that you would like to donate to the auction we would be more than happy to receive it. From now until then you can send in the donations to school. Thank you to those few individuals that have donated items so far. We really appreciate it.
For upcoming important dates, including days off, Market Day pick up, etc. go to our Calendar.
I wanted to inform everyone of one more communication tool that I implemented into our school community to use. Along with the Remind101 text system we now have a Twitter account for the class.
Go to www.twitter.com/mrsingerclass to see news and updates from the school day, etc. I am posting pictures, reminders, educational resources, etc. You can also gain access by clicking on the Twitter tab in the top right corner of our website, www.mrsinger.weebly.com. PLEASE stay connected to what we are doing in our classroom.
If you want to know more about what is going on in the Trailside PO, please see their website too. You can find information about items like the Trailside gear sales, and more! The final PTO meeting of the year is coming up in two weeks. Try to make it.
