Lesson Goal: Know how to respond effectively and quickly when given the STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN signal.
Lesson Recap: Students learned the importance of Stopping, Looking, and Listening when they heard a specific signal. This signal is very important for students to learn and know so that they can receive important instructions from their teacher at any time, including in the event of an emergency. Please ask your child what his/her class signal is and have a discussion about why it is important to stop, look, and listen when they hear and/or see the signal being used by the teacher.
You can reinforce the concepts of ALICE at home by asking your student to describe each of the ALICE components to you. Then, talk about using ALICE in any public place like the mall, church, movie theater, fare, hospital, ….. Anywhere this knowledge may come in handy.
