News from the Social Studies Department (By Justyce): In Social Studies we are learning the history if the United States and the history of Canada. yesterday we took a test on the history if the United States and Canada.
News from the Math Department (By Caleb): In Math we are learning about mixed numbers and improper fractions.
News from the English/Language Arts Department (By Camille): We are doing a project. Then we have to take a test on Friday.
News from the Music Department (By Chloe): We played Christmas Bingo and I won 2 times. I got 2 suckers for it.:p
News from the Physical Education Department (By Lori): In gym we are just finishing volleyball. We are starting our next unit now which I am not sure what our next unit is.
News from the Art Department (By Halle): In art this week, we made clay plates and bowls and had to glaze them. We are now working on a new clay project. We are making a repetitive clay sculpture.
Free Choice Area (By Desirae): This week at lunch I hung out with my super duper plooper friends, Linda, Kaite, Berny, Thalia, Macy, Carmel, Alexander, Nikki, Maddy in the line, Laura, Connor, and Jeremy. In math I was partners with Maddy, and I think we did pretty well. I wore my super duper plooper “festive sweater” and it’s cool. Haley and I did art together, and that was super duper plooper fun! At recess I played tag with just about the whole 6th grade. We have been working on Home Is... a lot in ELA, (I love Home Is...). In science we are learning all about roller coasters and energy. In social studies we took a test! So yeah, I hung out with my bae this week.
Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer): Its auction time and we are looking for donations for our biannual classroom auction.
The students have been earning money for being positive and taking responsibility for their learning. We are looking for any donations you might be able to supply to us. We are looking for items like: Rummage sale items, used books, baked goods, business donations, etc.
Please send your donations with your child to his/her homeroom teacher by the day of the auction, or earlier. Our auction will be held on Tuesday, December 23rd.
Report card grades for first trimester went live two weeks ago. Some of you received a letter to sign in and check your student’s grades. Thank you to the few of you that did this. Next year I will do a check before break and send a second letter home for those who are in need of it.
