News from the Social Studies Department (By Taylor): In social studies we learned about our culture and about extended family's, social class, society, nuclear families, social structure.
News from the Math Department (By Rebecca): In math we learned how to undo the problem by doing the opposite symbol. An example of this is if it is addition then you would do subtraction to undo the math. That's what we learned in math.
News from the English/Language Arts Department (By Noah): This week we continued our lesson about fears and phobias. We are also in the making of our short stories about a character that we created having to face a fear or phobia that he/she has. That is what we did through the week.
News from the Music Department (By Brian): Well, we learned many rhythms and drum circles. We practiced some of the rhythms also skills in order to get better at drumming. If we do well we will get a chance to put in a note symbol that we know if all rows are filled we get a prize.
News from the Physical Education Department (By Sabrina): At gym we are learning the techniques of soccer.The techniques we are learning is overhead toss-in and another technique we learned is
News from the Art Department (By Trevor):This week we were making animals in this little rectangle. Outside the rectangle we had our background that we traced first with pencil then with sharpie.Then you had to use a technique to make our lines standout more.On the inside you could use color, but on the outside you could not. We were using water colors and we were finishing up our 2D drawings of a bedroom of our choosing they were alot of fun. You had to make at least a bed, window, door, and some kind of wall decoration, flooring, and a piece of furniture.
Free Choice Area (By Lindsay): We have a unit 2 math test Monday, the 26th. All about what we did in unit 2. Study for it!
Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer): This week we sent home conference sheets. Thanks to all of you who sent back yours already. We are only 7 away from having them all back, and they are not due until Wednesday! Please remember to take the survey ahead of time. CLICK HERE for the link. Please remember you will get about 15 minutes to meet with us, normal expectation for conferences. If you want to meet with both of us that is fine, but make sure all people who want to meet with the teachers in their hour allotted slot do so. We will be in the library for conferences.
Remember that tonight is movie night at Trailside. Doors open at 6pm and the movie begins at 6:30. Yogi Bear (2010 version) will be playing. There will be food and snacks. Just remember this is a family night, so please have parents accompany the students.
