News from the Social Studies Department (By Everett): In social studies we finished determining who is are class representative. We also finished presenting are decades project.
News from the Math Department (By Maddy): We are learning how to add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators and we are learning how to do it with mixed numbers too. We are getting the hang of it. I love it.
News from the English/Language Arts Department (By Braedyn): In E.L.A we are working on reading poems and short stories and answering questions about the article.
News from the Music Department (By Emma): We went on Noteflight and made a song. We made a song by looking on the slides and seeing the notes.
News from the Physical Education Department (By Lucas): We just finished Hockey now we are starting Tennis. We did one day of Tennis so far, but we didn’t get any games done.
News from the Art Department (By Spencer): We just finished the repetition clay project. We started a clay project based on Central American pottery.
Free Choice Area (By Kennedy): In science this week we have been working on a packet about expanding and contracting solids, liquids, and gases. We have done a few labs to demonstrate how you can tell that the object is expanding and contracting.
Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer): Welcome back to school this year and happy new year to everyone. I hope you all enjoyed some time off from school and work, and were able to enjoy the time with family and friends. I also hope you are all still going strong with your new year's resolutions.
Next week the students will be starting the winter session of MAPs testing. Next week they will be taking the reading test and the week after we will be doing math. Mrs. Krueger’s class will be testing on Monday next week and Mr. Singer’s class will be testing on Wednesday. For Math Mr. Singer’s class will be testing the Monday after and Mrs. Krueger’s class will be testing Wednesday.
