Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer): Welcome to our third and final trimester of sixth grade. You are able to check out your student’s grades but Tuesday will be the official day grades go home. From what I heard you can see the grades but our comments won’t pop up until Tuesday. Check them out and be informed. If you have any questions please email us. I will then be tracking progress of checking Skyward to ensure everyone goes on to review the grades of their students.
Now that we are in the third trimester we are going to be much more diligent about missing or late work. Each Friday we will send home sheets in each subject for any missing work we have for the kids. These forms MUST be returned signed on Monday with the work in hand if possible. Any work that is not submitted a week after the due date will get a grade and be kept as a 0. This has been the expectation all year, but we have been lenient all year. However, with only 12 weeks left we need to get the students prepared for next year. Please make sure to help us out by checking their grades on Skyward, check the homework on our websites, and make sure if they bring a missing sheet home on Friday that you sign the form and make sure they complete the work within the week given.
For upcoming important dates, including days off, PTO events, etc. go to our Calendar. This coming week is very busy with PTO events. Next week will be our next movie night.
Make sure you are staying connected with our Remind alert system and following the class on Twitter. Find both feeds shown on our website, www.mrsinger.weebly.com. If you are not signed up on either you can do so on the website. Contact me if you have any questions on doing this. I have also added pictures to our pictures page too.
Remember to check the assignment notebook board daily for homework updates.
BONUS: Since the Iditarod is going it is time to give you some weekly trivia about the “Last Great Race.” Who is considered the father of the Iditarod and how many of his family members are running in the race this year? An answer by Monday by email or in the assignment notebook, or in a note form, will earn you or your student $50 for each part, $100 total! Good Luck!!!
