News from the Social Studies Department (By Liam): In social studies we learned about revolutions in Latin America. Occasionally we have also been working on our Weebly site and our tri-fold board for the Culture Fair.
News from the Math Department (By Bianca): In math this week we took a MAP test on Monday. This week Tuesday we took a math test on geometry.
News from the English/Language Arts Department (By Lucas): We just finished ELA MAPs testing last week. We have been reading our parts for a play we are going to do.
News from the Music Department (By Spencer): We are learning how to play the guitar still and are learning to sing. We played Are You Sleeping and sang it. We are using chords now.
News from the Physical Education Department (By Kennedy): In Gym we are working on teamwork. We had a team and had to get across the gym with a group of items without touching the floor and if you touched the floor you had to start all over.
News from the Art Department (By Caden): We presented our art projects. We each got to grade each presentation.
Free Choice Area (By Carson): Today is L for lollipop day. We can bring in a lollipop for a snack.
Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer): Happy Friday the 13th with a full moon (Please be safe today). This week has been very busy and next week will be even busier. We completed our MAPs math testing this week and started our last math unit and are preparing for our final science project. The students are also working hard to complete their Culture Fair work too.
Next week we will be going on our field trip to Discovery World (Tuesday) and going to Fox River for our shadow day (Friday).
For the field trip everyone will need to bring a bag lunch. I encourage you to bring a bag for lunch. Make sure you have the student’s name on it. Please do not pack more food than the students can eat and no energy drinks or high sugary sodas. No electronics will be allowed as well (phones, cameras, etc.)
For Fox River if a student wants to order lunch they can, but need money in their account to order the food. If they bring a bag lunch we can put them somewhere until it is time to eat.
Please make sure to check Skyward for grades as progress reports went out two weeks ago. If no one has checked grades they will receive a letter confirming you need to check.
We are still looking for a few more donated items for our last science lab. Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. I have a nice pile of resources so far, but we still need: string, straws, foam, balloons, and twisty ties.
For upcoming important dates, including days off, PTO events, etc. go to our Calendar. Next week will be our last PTO meeting for the school year.
Make sure you are staying connected with our Remind alert system and following the class on Twitter. Find both feeds shown on our website, www.mrsinger.weebly.com. If you are not signed up on either you can do so on the website. Contact me if you have any questions on doing this. I have also added pictures to our pictures page too.
Remember to check the assignment notebook board daily for homework updates.
