Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer): Happy Friday to you. Yet again we had a very productive week. We had our field trip, today we did our shadow day at Trailside, and we have been completing a lot of end-of-the-year assessments and projects. On both events we have had this week I put pictures up on the Picture page of the website. Just click on the link in the page.
As we get closer to the end date of school I wanted to make sure you are aware of a few important dates. Next Friday (May 27) is an Early Release Day, no school on Monday (May 30), The Culture fair will be May 31 and June 2, Carnival will be June 1, and our last day which is also an early release day is June 3.
We are still looking for a few more donated items for our last science lab. Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. I have a nice pile of resources so far, but we still need: string, straws, foam, balloons, and twisty ties. This project will be done next week, with testing of the Mars lander being the week after.
For upcoming important dates, including days off, PTO events, etc. go to our Calendar.
Make sure you are staying connected with our Remind alert system and following the class on Twitter. Find both feeds shown on our website, www.mrsinger.weebly.com. If you are not signed up on either you can do so on the website. Contact me if you have any questions on doing this. I have also added pictures to our pictures page too.
Remember to check the assignment notebook board daily for homework updates.
BONUS: Since we are focusing on Mars lander, here is a bonus question that has to do with Mars landing of Curiosity. On August 6, 2012 Curiosity landed on Mars after about a 9 month trip. The landing itself was a tricky part of this $2.5 billion dollar mission. This landing was so tricky that NASA named the landing mission, what?
