Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer):
Let me start off by saying GREAT JOB BAND STUDENTS. Your concert last night was very good. I was impressed to see how many of you also were in the “minute to win it” group, and how many of you participated in WSMA competition. Very impressed.
In the Friday Folders I put a copy of the final scores from the MAPs testing for this year. Please look them over and see how you child did. We had very good results this year. As a class in reading over 7%5 of the class made their goal growth, and 80% did the same in language arts. In math 65% of the class made their growth, but everyone made a positive growth over the year. GOOD JOB CLASS!
Planning for the end of the year; we do one more auction the last day of school for the students. I am asking again if you have anything you can donate to our auction that would be appreciated. So, if you are doing some spring cleaning and find some items that look enjoyable to 6th, soon to be 7th, graders, or you want to donate some gift like baskets, etc. please let me know. The dontaitons from auction letters have been down this year compared to the last few years.
As a reminder we have two field trips coming up. May 22nd , next Tuesday, we will be at Retzner nature center in Waukesha, and May 29th we will be at the Milwaukee Public Museum. Remember that for both days ALL kids need to bring a bag lunch. If you are a chaperone please make sure you come prepared as well.
May25th will be a half day where we are done at 11:30. May 28th will be no school because of Memorial Day.
The students have been working on poetry for the past few weeks. Many of them have created their poems and put them on their online portfolio. Please check out their poetry work.
