After finishing our Coverings and Surroundings projects the other day, we have started our new book called Bits and Pieces 3. We will be learning how to multiply, divide, add, and subtract decimals.

We have been working on the song “Lean On Me” and playing the song with different instruments.

It’s time to test our strenghth and agilty in P.E class. We are now doing our sit-‘in-reach, pacer run, push-ups, and curl up tests. Let’s hope we all get a healthy score. See you next week!
News from the Art Department (By Molly):
What we are doing in art is making string baskets and we are finishing them. What we have to do is take this big coil 15 feet long and wrap string around it. We can make the basket any shape we want, and it doesen’t have to look like a perfect basket. It can be a weird shape and any color.
Free Choice Area (By Zach M.):
In gym we are in the middle of the fitness testing unit, and we are going to do the PACER on Tuesday. In reading we are in the middle of a non-fiction book project where we get to design a book jacket.
Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer):
Only one more week of spring training for baseball, and then the Crew is back in town! Anyone else excited about this? If that does not excite you, then knowing that next Thursday is the start of the spring break might do it for you. Not to mention Easter and candy!
On Thursday we went to see the play “Mulan Jr.” put on by the Fox River Middle School. The students said they enjoyed it, and I will have to say I found it a treat. If anyone is looking for something to do this weekend they have three showings this weekend. Friday and Saturday night at 7:00, and Sunday at 2:00. I took some pictures while were were at the play on Thursday, so please go the pictures page on the website and check them out.
We sent home a permission slip for a trip to Retzner nature center on May 22nd this week. Please send the money and slips back by next Thursday.
April 5th is the start of our spring break. Students are able to leave at 11:50. This is different from all other early release days, so be prepared. School resumes on April 16th. The Battle of the Books battles begin on the 16th as well. They will run through April 18th. Good luck to those participating.
