AUCTION TIME!!! It’s almost auction time, and we are looking for donations for our biannual classroom auction. Students have been earning money for being positive and taking responsibility for their learning.
If you are interested in helping make the event a success, we are in need of your help. We have received a decent amount of items from donors thus far, but we are still in need of a few items for the upcoming auction.
If you have any of the following items that would be of interest to sixth graders we would be glad to take them:
- Rummage sale items
- Used books
- Baked goods
- Business donations
- Gift cards
- Soda/Candy
- Etc.
Please send your donations with your child to his/her homeroom teacher by Thursday, December 20th (unless you are sending baked goods, those can be send on the morning of the auction). Our auction will be held on the morning of December 21st.
Please send in a 16 x 20 picture frame if you have not done so yet by Monday please. This is for the Home Is… project the students are working on.
As we mentioned last week we are in the middle of our first pilot math program. We are piloting Eureka math with our unit in Ratios and Unit Rates. We will be continuing the unit to the end of January.
Next week we are doing a Pizza lunch with the blue wing. If kids are interested they need to return their $2 for two slices by Monday. They can bring anything but energy drinks to drink for lunch too. Kids are not required to take pizza, and all kids will each with each other that day.
Also, Thursday afternoon we are planning on doing a “party” with the kids. If kids want to bring a snack to share with their 6th grade peers they are encouraged, but not required. Mrs. Wanasek and I will take care of something to drink.
Dates to remember:
December 21 Early Release Day and our 6th Grade Auction
Dec. 21-Jan 2. No School, Christmas/New Year Break
January 3 Welcome Back
For information on upcoming events you can see our calendar page from our website too. Please take some time each week to go on Skyward and see how your child is doing in school. This will help us work better as a team to know where your child is at, and where we may need some help.
Check out what is going on in the classroom. He also post what is going on on twitter through the Twitter handle @MrSingerClass. If you do not have Twitter, don’t worry, you can see the thread on the homepage of the class website.
Do not forget to register on Class Dojo to keep up-to-date with notes from the teachers, the behavior of your child, and more. If you need me to print another flyer, or send you an email invite, let me know.
BONUS: Each week we will put a challenge on here for any parent or student to try. All you have to do is give a response by Monday in the assignment notebook for us to see. If the answer is correct the student will receive $50 towards their checking account. Good Luck!
With Christmas approaching I figured I would make the bonus related to the holiday. In the movie Frosty the Snowman, what was Frosty’s first words?
