Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer and Mrs. Topp): Happy Friday! As we start a new trimester and approach our winter break, the students’ excitement is growing! As a reminder, report cards will be generated and available with our comments on December 11th by 2:00 pm. We will be checking Skyward the following week to see who is and who is not checking in on Skyward. For information on upcoming events you can see our calendar page from our website too.
Now that we are in the second trimester, students will only need to get one parent signature a WEEK in the assignment notebook (assignment notebook board). Students have done such a great job filling out their assignment notebooks and having it signed that we feel the students have developed the habit/routine which will continue. Students will continue filling out the assignment book to show you what was done in school and what needs to be completed for homework, but one parent signature a week is now required. Students have an incentive if they do get parent signatures daily:)
The students in ELA class completed a self-review of the first trimester. Please have a conversation with your child about all of the successes he/she has and ways to improve upon this next trimester. You should be proud!
The following went home today to inform you about our first auction of the year. We are in need of some help:
Attention 6th grade families,
Its auction time and we are looking for donations for our biannual classroom auction. Students have been earning money for being positive and taking responsibility for their learning.
If you are interested in helping make the event a success, we are in need of your help. We have received a decent amount of items from donors thus far, but we are still in need of a few items for the upcoming auction.
If you have any of the following items that would be of interest to sixth graders we would be glad to take them:
- Rummage sale items
- Used books
- Baked goods
- Business donations
- Gift cards
Please send your donations with your child to his/her homeroom teacher by Thursday, December 21st (unless you are sending baked goods, those can be send on the morning of the auction. Our auction will be held on the morning of December 22nd.
Please make an effort to join our Remind account to keep up with information and other photos and stories from our classes. For remind to go www.remind.com/join/bradsinger. Mrs. Topp and Mr. Singer will update this resource all year.
Throughout the year Mr. Singer will post pictures on our pictures page of the website too. Check out what is going on in the classroom. He also post what is going on on twitter through the Twitter handle @MrSingerClass.
BONUS: Each week we will put a challenge on here for any parent or student to try. All you have to do is give a response by Monday in the assignment notebook for us to see. If the answer is correct the student will receive $50 towards their checking account. Good Luck!
