News from the Science department (By Erica): In science we are doing mechanisms. We have to build different models with different things.
News from the Social Studies Department (By Gabriella): In social studies every day we start the class out with doing daily geography. That is a packet that there is two questions that we answer every day and at the end of the week we get a grade. We also were learning and taking notes about the types of state, types of government, and lastly, the Allies and the international organization.
News from the Math Department (By Jorell): In 7th grade we learned about protractors and how to use them. We also learned how to create a circle then measure it using the tool.
News from the English/Language Arts Department (By Lily): I ELA we are do a report about natural disasters. My group and I are doing hurricanes.
News from the Physical Education Department (By Delaney): In gym we were doing archery. It was very fun. I do not know what we are doing next but I know it is going to be fun.
News from the Art Department (By Jasmine): In art we finished our ombre silhouettes. We also glazed or regular painted out clay. I regular painted.
News from the Music Department (By: Sonya): In music this week we learned the who created the first ever music inventions.
Free Choice Area (By Soren): We are Finishing up stuff in science and in ELA we are presenting on Tuesday next week on our natural disasters.
Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer): Winter is here! I hope you all enjoyed your snow day this week. With the snow day some of our items got shifted around. Fox River’s visit will be moved to February 4th and the Math 24 competition is being moved to Monday, January 28th.
We are almost done with our Eureka pilot program for math. This should wrap up the last full week of February, and then after that we will be moving on to Ready math. The teachers doing this pilot program, I am one of them, will be completing another unit after Eureka finishes. The unit we will be conducting will be Statistics and Probability.

One of my favorite fruits are oranges. They are so sweet and tangy, and… orange. However Oranges are not naturally orange. For $100 total this week, what is the natural color of orange skins, and how do they get the orange color we are used to (will accept two different answers).
