Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer and Mrs. Topp): Welcome to 2018. We hope that you and your family had a great break and rang in the new year in a fun way. January will be a busy time here at Trailside. Next week will be the winter MAP testing for reading, the week after will be the math MAP testing, we have our third night of APTT, Math 24 participants will be competing at the end of the month, and so much more! Please make sure you are taking some time to read these newsletter to hear what is coming up so you are prepared. Also, take a little time each week to be checking Skyward too so you know if your child is up-to-date on their work or if they have missing work.
On January 18th we will be having our 3rd night of APTT at Trailside. We hope to see all of you there so we can look at the progress of your child on our math goal, and discuss further steps for the year. Please do your best to be there on that night.
Coming up on March will be our first STEAM day. Please be on the lookout for an email from Mr. Dembosky on what help we will need on that day. We will be looking for parent volunteers, and donations of STEAM items (cardboard, glue, wire, etc.). As we get closer there will be another email for you and your child to go over together to sign up for activities they want to participate in.
For information on upcoming events you can see our calendar page from our website too.
Mr. Singer’s homeroom parents - You will be getting your January update email from your child next week. Please let me know if you receive it, any feedback about the process of them emailing you, etc. I would like to know how it is going.
Please make an effort to join our Remind account and/or Class Dojo to keep up with information, behavior concerns, and other photos and stories from our classes. For remind to go www.remind.com/join/bradsinger and for class dojo go to www.classdojo.com/CT7L92M. Mrs. Topp and Mr. Singer will update through these two resources all year. Currently we are at 88% of the families connected with us on DoJo.
Throughout the year Mr. Singer will post pictures on our pictures page of the website too. Check out what is going on in the classroom. He also post what is going on on twitter through the Twitter handle @MrSingerClass.
BONUS: Each week we will put a challenge on here for any parent or student to try. All you have to do is give a response by Monday in the assignment notebook for us to see. If the answer is correct the student will receive $50 towards their checking account. Good Luck!
