Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer and Mrs. Topp): This upcoming week will be an exciting and fun time. We will have our field trip to Discovery World and the students will be having their shadow day at Fox River too.
On Friday we will be heading to Fox River in the morning only. The students will be paired up with a 7th grader in a small group. The 7th graders will be taking the kids around the school showing the 6th graders were the classrooms are, how to use a locker, etc. We will be back for lunch, so the students will not be able to see how lunch is different, but other than that the students will get to see what it is like to be at FOR next year.
Our field trip to the Discovery Museum on May 23rd. Please remember the kids will need a bag lunch for this event. Make sure the lunch is in a labeled bag and we prefer it is a bag that can be tossed when they are done. We will be leaving by 8:45 and coming back by 3:15. Thank you to all the parents who will be helping as chaperones. We are looking forward to a fun-filled day.
Please go to Skyward and click on the individual grades if there is a question about low grades because of missing assignments or low scores. We know that our sixth graders will end the school year on a successful note!
It’s almost auction time and we are looking for donations for our biannual classroom auction. Students have been earning money for being positive and taking responsibility for their learning.
If you are interested in helping make the event a success, we are in need of your help. We have received a decent amount of items from donors thus far, but we are still in need of a few items for the upcoming auction.
If you have any of the following items that would be of interest to sixth graders we would be glad to take them:
- Rummage sale items
- Used books
- Baked goods
- Business donations
- Gift cards
- Soda/Candy
- Etc.
Please send your donations with your child to his/her homeroom teacher by Wednesday, June, 6th (unless you are sending baked goods, those can be send on the morning of the auction. Our auction will be held on the morning of June 7th.
In addition to checking your child’s grades on Skyward, please also periodically (at least once a week) check your child’s assignment book. The assignment book is a helpful tool to see what students are doing in class and checking if there are notes for upcoming events or messages from us.
