News from the Math Department (By Ethan): We had lots of fun in math this week. We took a test then we started a new unit. We are about to take a quiz. I can’t wait.
News from the Reader’s Workshop Department (By Joey): Well lately in the readers workshop we have been doing packets. The packet this week was weird because of the short week. It focused on the use of organization in reading.
News from the Music Department (By Sam): We didn’t have music last week, but last week we sang multiple Christmas songs to prepare for our upcoming winter concert.
News from the Physical Education Department (By Daniel): In gym we have been doing the fitness gram witch is when we test for do pacer, truck lift, push-ups, and curl- ups.
News from the Art Department (By KC): This week we started working on skeletons for a Mexican holiday, to celebrate the dead. We could have done a full skeleton or just a head. That was my news for the art department.
Free Choice Area (By Ashley): Chorus: In chorus we have learned some new songs. We are going to have a vote on songs that we what want to sing at the concert. That is what we are doing in Chorus.
Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer): I want to start out by thanking all the families that have made it in thus far for conferences. Thank you to all the families coming in today too. It has been nice to make contact and share all the positive work that has been done so far.
Remember that next week will be our WKCE testing window. Please help to make sure all students are getting ample sleeping time, a hearty breakfast, and come to school with a smile to allow them to do better on
the test. As I mentioned in the conferences WKCE is in its last year here in Wisconsin. Next year we will be doing an assessment called Smarter Balance.
I wanted to inform everyone of one more communication tool that I implemented into our school community to
use. Along with the Remind101 text system we now have a Twitter account for the class. Go to www.twitter.com/mrsingerclass to see news and updates from the school day, etc. I am posting pictures, reminders, educational resources, etc. You can also gain access by clicking on the Twitter tab in the top right
corner of our website, www.mrsinger.weebly.com. PLEASE stay connected to what we are doing in our classroom.
For more on different events coming up please check our calendar page of the website. If you want to know more about what is going on in the Trailside PTO, please see their website too. You can find information about items like the Trailside gear sales, and more!
Remember to check the assignment notebook board daily for homework updates.
