The WI Forward assessment tests students in the areas of math and reading for all grades 3-8, and science and social studies are additional for grades 4 and 8. One or more subtests may be administered daily during the identified time frame, and it is very important that your son or daughter be in school during this time. Students not in school on the scheduled testing days will be scheduled for a make-up test prior to the close of the testing window.
The District Newsletter for March (click here) provides more information about the assessment including its purpose, what scores will be provided, and how the scores will be used.
The WI Forward assessment measures the knowledge and skills your student(s) should have acquired by the time they reach each grade level. Their performance on the assessment will not affect any of their current grades. Please encourage your son or daughter to take the test seriously and do the best they can. The results of these tests will be used to help school staff make determinations or placement in classes to best support your child(ren). Having less than 95% of our students participate in the state test will have a negative impact on our school report card from the state.
With the expectation of middle school around the corner we are going to NOT have the kids sign their assignment notebooks. If you want to send us notes in the assignment notebook still that is fine. It will be the student’s responsibility to get it to us.
On Wednesday we will be going to Fox River to see a author presentation. Students got permission slips the other day. We are still missing ½ of the classes permission slips. Please make sure to get it back before Wednesday or your students will not be able to go.
Make sure to sign up with class Dojo. We are at 75% of families registered. To register go to www.classdojo.com/CT7L92M.
For upcoming important dates, including days off, PTO events, etc. go to our Calendar. You can also see the PTO calendar here too. There will be no school Friday for the students.
Make sure you are staying connected with our Remind alert system and following the class on Twitter. Find both feeds shown on our website, www.mrsinger.weebly.com. If you are not signed up on either you can do so on the website. Contact me if you have any questions on doing this. I have also added pictures to our pictures page too.
Remember to check the assignment notebook board daily for homework updates.
BONUS: Each week I will put a challenge on here for any parent or student to try. All you have to do is give a response by Monday in the assignment notebook for me to see. If the answer is correct the student will receive $50 towards their checking account. Good Luck!
Now that the Iditarod started, it is probably time to pull out a few Iditarod trivia choices. Who won the first Iditarod and how long did it take that person to complete it? $100 for this one.
