Two weeks ago we held our last APTT night of the year, and I want to start out by thanking all the parents that came. I also appreciated the feedback so many of you shared with Mrs. Wanasek and I about how we can improve this program next year. Your voice is truly heard and that will help us to make it better. Whether you were able to come to all of the APTT nights, just one, or none of them we would like to get come feedback on how we can improve. We have created a somewhat quick survey we would like ALL of you to share. Please, please, please take some time to complete the following survey. We will be using the information provided to improve our program school-wide next year.

I want to remind you of the math awareness night coming up on May 16 at Evergreen at 6pm, see below:
Back in December, we communicated that our district has spent over a year meeting, discussing, and investigating opportunities to improve our mathematics program. This past fall we narrowed our selection of math materials by studying teacher resources, assessment resources, student resources, and home to school resources. We narrowed our search to Eureka Math and Ready Math. We then conducted pilots of each program at all grade levels throughout all the buildings. Based upon our own data, we have narrowed the selection to Ready Mathematics and would like your feedback. Your feedback will help determine the implementation steps for the program. Please take a few moments to answer the survey.
We are extremely excited about the opportunity and we appreciate your involvement. This spring we will have an opportunity for an information night on Wednesday, Math 15th, 6:00 p.m. at Woodfield Library. We will also have an opportunity in the fall for a parent information night. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask me or your child’s teacher.

We will be sending in our final count for our field trip on Tuesday and that will include shirt sizes. Almost all kids have their trip paid for, but there are still some missing. We need to have the fee in by Tuesday or we will lose our spot. Please get the cost in soon. Also, we will need to collect shirt sizes for Discovery World to get the shirts for the students. If your child will be missing school up to Tuesday, please email me with your child’s shirt size.

For information on upcoming events, you can see our calendar page from our website too. Please take some time each week to go on Skyward and see how your child is doing in school. This will help us work better as a team to know where your child is at, and where we may need some help.
Check out what is going on in the classroom. We also post what is going on through the Twitter handle @MrSingerClass. If you do not have Twitter, don’t worry, you can see the thread on the homepage of the class website.
Do not forget to register on Class Dojo to keep up-to-date with notes from the teachers, the behavior of your child, and more. If you need me to print another flyer or send you an email invite, let me know.
BONUS: Each week we will put a challenge on here for any parent or student to try. All you have to do is give a response by Monday in the assignment notebook for us to see. If the answer is correct the student will receive $50 towards their checking account. Good Luck!
