Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer):
One week down and we are all still having fun. We have been busy going over rules, procedures, passwords and signups, etc. Finally we can begin to do some learning!
This next week will be the start of our MAPs testing. We do it three times a year. This next week we will do Math, the week after will be reading and then language arts the following week. During this next week I will also be doing AIMSweb testing with the students. They are quick tests individually with each kid on reading fluency, reading comprehension, and math skills. All these test are also done three times a year. The MAPs and AIMSweb are both designed to assist me as a teacher to develop individualized learning plans to help me make the students better learners.
Next week will also be picture day on Thursday. Make sure the kids come prepared for their annual fun “see the birdie” moment. September 26th will also be an interesting day at Trailside. It will be a Wednesday, but we will have a Monday schedule for the day. This is to make up for one of the Mondays that we lose during the year. For all major dates of interest please go to the website and check out the calendar page.
If you are interested in any other information, please peruse the website and enjoy. Our class rules, pictures from the year, and much more can be found. If you ever have any questions, or comments, please email me!
Thank You,
Mr. Singer
