In science we have learned about electric currents. There is alternating current and direct current. We also learned about voltage. Did you know that the typical voltage for your house plug is 120V or volts?

In Social Studies we learned about culture in the U.S. and Canada that the immigrant’s brought.

In math we are working on angels and polygons. We even learned how to use an angel ruler.
News from the Reader’s Workshop Department (By Emilee):
In reading this week, we finished up our scrapbook pages. Since everybody was done with the literature circle books, Mr. Singer collected them.

This week we worked on using good word choice. We also worked on descriptive word choice, and worked on a writing piece. These are the things we worked on this week.

In music we are getting ready for our big winter concert. We have two practices left till the concert.

We are learning how to dribble and pass a basketball; and that’s it.

We made a clay house and we will turn into a ginger bread house. =-)

On Wednesday my Toy Poodle Cody got a haircut he’s sooooo cute with his purple coat on and his short hair!!!!!! ^.^
Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer):
November looks like it is going out quietly and December is starting out like November or October. Can you believe this weather? Can you also believe it is December already. What a fast year it has been.
I am still looking for any parents that are willing to come in and give us a hand on some preparatory work for our project we are doing in class. If you are able to come in for an hour, or more (even less) I would appreciate the assistance.
Today is the end of the first trimester. We will begin the second trimester on Monday. The report cards will be available for viewing on Skyward on Tuesday. Remember to go on Skyward next week and check out the grades for the first week. I will be checking and reminding those of you that did not check by the next week.
The holiday concert will be Tuesday, December 11th. The concert times are 1:00 pm and 6:30 pm. Come see all the hard work your students have been putting in.
Our last school day before Christmas break is Friday, December 21st. We will be off the entire next week and start up again January 2nd.
