News from the Social Studies Department (By Brady): For the past 3 days we were working on our provinces in Canada. Also, today we are doing a gallery walk for our Canada posters.
News from the Math Department (By Caden): We have been learning how to do area and learning equations. This will help us if we are a engineer and for structures.
News from the English/Language Arts Department (By Alyssa): The week in ELA we have been learning about idioms. Also we also finished our Genius Hour presentations.
News from the Music Department (By Xzavier): We have been using Flat which is a music software used to make music on the computer. We have made an ABA pattern, which is the first four signatures are the same note The next four are a different then back to the first signature.
News from the Physical Education Department (By Baylee): In gym we are doing bowling. We are also trying to reach 80 percent of the 6th grade to be able to run 5 minutes.
News from the Art Department (By Hunter): We are working on our wire projects and we just finished our monsters. Bring your Chromebooks to class next week.
Free Choice Area (By Alicia): In band we are working on our concert songs. In chorus we are also working on our concert songs.
Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer): I hope everyone enjoyed the spring break. It sounds like many trips were taken and fun was had by the students. The break is needed, because this following month plus will be busy. We have many things coming up like spring concert, field trip, fundraisers, and more. Today was also crazy socks and hair day. I put a few pictures on the pictures page slideshow.
Next week is the start of our final MAPs schedule with reading. The following week will be math. They will be done in class this time with us (Mrs. Krueger and I). This is the last test of the year so it will be a final time we can assess the progress of each child through 6th grade.
Next week we have no school on Monday. It will be a teacher in-service day. On May 11th we will have the spring concert. May 17th we will be heading to Discover World. Mrs. Krueger and I will inform those parents who are accepted as chaperones on Tuesday. There are only a few students left to hand in their forms. May 18th will be our Cousin’s/Figaros night. Please go and buy dinner or lunch to help support school. The final PTO meeting will be on May 24th at 6:30. Our Fox River visit day will be Friday, May 26th. There will be no school on May 29th because it will be Memorial Day. Finally, on May 31st we will be having an all-school ALICE evacuation drill. When I get more on this event I will pass it along.
