News from the Science department (By Sonya): This week in science we have been working on our survival project. For my group we have to make an off terrain vehicle, we just finished.
News from the Social Studies Department (By Soren): In social studies we are doing questions for our Countries. Like What are your Country's main resources and main export.
News from the Math Department (By Erica): In math we just got finished with our quiz. We just finished learning about Statistical and Non-statistical questions. We also are taking a break from khan academy and using i-Ready instead.
News from the English/Language Arts Department (By Gabriella): In ELA we are currently working on a thesis statement. Right now we are finding what the main character wants you to really know besides the obvious. Also, we are working ob book talks which we do every week.
News from the Physical Education Department (By Jorell): In gym we were laing tag on roller skates with a pool noodle. We also played tag but if people were getting to ahed the tagger could turn around by cutting through the middle of the gym so you had to be wary about how far ahead you were getting.
News from the Art Department (By Nick): In art we just finished the soup cans and we are starting having a checkered background and pootin shapes in the front and have another checkered pattern on them.
News from the Music Department (By Sari): This week in music we have created a 16 measure song piece. Next Thursday though we have to play one of the instruments using our we created. The song I created is called Flight of a Newborn Bird. Just thought you might like to know. Until Next Time!
Free Choice Area (By Lucas): I will be play in the snow today and play with my friends. My sister has a basketball game I really hope they win all there games.
Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer): Happy Thursday! I hope you all have fun plans for the extended weekend for you and the family. In case you were wondering, tomorrow we are planning on doing a lot of fun work in our in-service day. It will be rewarding.

Today we began our following of the Iditarod, The Last Great Race! We will be learning about the history of the race, it's origins, geography of Iditarod, calculating distances and speed of the teams, and even doing some fantasy sports competition of The Last Great Race. Please ask your child(ren) what they are doing and how you can help them be involved in the learning.

With the start of the Iditarod I am going to make it related to the race. Who was the fastest musher, in what year, and what was their time? This is worth $100.
