I am still waiting on 9 families to check the grades from the first trimester. We will be sending home a THIRD copy home today. Monday is the halfway point of the second trimester, halfway point of the year, and we will be expecting a check after next week. Thanks to all of those people who have checked regularly. It really helps us out here.
Tonight is movie night if anyone is interested. Doors open at 6pm. This is a family event, so please come and enjoy some quality time together.
I am in need of some materials for our science projects we are planning in the near future. We have been using the Maker Space in the STEAM lab but we are going to be doing some specific projects with growing plants, and making thermoses. If you have materials at home that are good insulators (foam, newspaper, etc.) or items that can be used for growing plants without dirt (old washcloths, 2-liter bottles, and items we can set seeds in like sawdust, shredded paper, etc.) please send them in and your child will get a $50 for each item donated.
Make sure to sign up with class Dojo. We are at 70% of families registered.
For upcoming important dates, including days off, PTO events, etc. go to our Calendar. The big event coming up is Tuesday, December 13th. This is the winter concert date so mark your calendar. Our last day of school for the month is Thursday, December 22nd.
Make sure you are staying connected with our Remind alert system and following the class on Twitter. Find both feeds shown on our website, www.mrsinger.weebly.com. If you are not signed up on either you can do so on the website. Contact me if you have any questions on doing this. I have also added pictures to our pictures page too.
Remember to check the assignment notebook board daily for homework updates.
BONUS: Each week I will put a challenge on here for any parent or student to try. All you have to do is give a response by Monday in the assignment notebook for me to see. If the answer is correct the student will receive $50 towards their checking account. Good Luck!
Being that today is the inauguration of our new president, let’s stick to that theme for the trivia questions.
Today there will be a parade! But, when was the first inauguration parade, and for which president? I wonder if any of the students floats would be in that parade?
