This week Mrs. Markle, Fox River principal, stopped in to talk with the kids about next year expectations. By today the kids needed to bring their class choice sheet back in. There will be a family night coming up soon where parents are expected to go to. More information on the meeting will be coming soon.
With the expectation of middle school around the corner we are going to NOT have the kids sign their assignment notebooks starting Tuesday. If you want to send us notes in the assignment notebook still that is fine. It will be the student’s responsibility to get it to us.
This week’s Dojo points inventive went well and almost all kids were allowed to attend today. We hope this trend can continue as we will collect points for two weeks at a time now. Points will be deleted at the end of each scoring period. This next time we will encourage the students to meet ⅔ of the total points by the end of the two weeks and will do the incentive on the following Monday to make sure we count through Friday.
Tomorrow starts the Iditarod. Today the kids were informed of the challenge they all are expected to do during the competition, Idita-read. Students will be expected to read after school until the next school day. Every page they read equals three miles to the musher’s speed. Please help by initialing their score sheet every night. Over the weekend they only need to fill out one row on the sheet for the entire weekend. So, on Tuesday they only need to keep track of their reading from tomorrow to Tuesday morning. There will be cash on the line for the kids too. 1st place will get $500, 2nd will get $300, 3rd will get $250, 4th will get $200, 5th will get $150, 6th will get $100, and 7th will get the red lantern and $50. If the team picks the winning musher for the Iditarod they will get a $100 bonus. If their backup is the winner they get a $50 bonus.
