Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer):
Looks like January is starting to actually look and feel like January. The ice scrapers and heavy coats are finally out for everyone. And, today is the halfway point of the school year already. Can you believe it?
Today we had our halfway sixth grade auction. It went very well for the students thanks to the generous donations from families of sixth grade, our PTO, and from the donations that came back from the students’ letters. Thank you very much to the families who made such generous donations to help the students be rewarded for great behavior so far.
We are in the middle of our winter testing on the students. This week we finished our math MAPs testing, and next week will be the reading portion of the testing. This round of MAPs testing allows us as teachers to see what growth the students have made so far this year. Once the testing is completed I will send home a copy of the results so you can see how they did.
Next Tuesday will be the day we will have progress reports posted for the second trimester. Please make sure you go on to Skyward on, or after, Tuesday and see the progress of your student. I will again send home a note to the families who do not check by one week after the posting (January 29). Please make sure to go on and see how well they are doing.
That is all for this week. Thanks for reading Our Class Newsletter. Please email me with any questions or concerns you might have.
