News from the Music Department (By Jack): We are doing our percussion unit in music and it is cool. We use lots of different instruments.
News from the Physical Education Department (By Molly): In gym class we were training for the track meet on Tuesday. We also had a fun Friday today, just to get a little break from the track meet.
News from the Art Department (By Audrey): In art, we are paper machining our wire project. We also are working on finishing our posters on our artists.
Free Choice Area (By Cynthia): We had a track meet at the high school. This school is pretty cool. Audrey likes grapes. :)
Teacher's Corner (By Mr. Singer and Mrs. Topp): We are not into the last month of the year. Before you know it, the students will be starting 7th grade. This month is packed with a lot of fun items, like yesterday’s track and field day. Do your best to stay up-to-date with the ongoings at TS.
Please go to Skyward and click on the individual grades if there is a question about low grades because of missing assignments or low scores. We know that our sixth graders will end the school year on a successful note!
In addition to checking your child’s grades on Skyward, please also periodically (at least once a week) check your child’s assignment book. The assignment book is a helpful tool to see what students are doing in class and checking if there are notes for upcoming events or messages from us.
We have scheduled a field trip to the Discovery Museum on May 23rd. Permission slips went home two weeks ago and are due TUESDAY. Thank you to the parents who are available to chaperone. More information will be sent home to let you know what time to meet. If your child did not turn in his/her track permission slip, another copy has been stapled in the assignment book. It is bright pink. Please have your child return.

For remind to go www.remind.com/join/bradsinger and for class dojo go to www.classdojo.com/CT7L92M. Mrs. Topp and Mr. Singer will update through these two resources all year. Currently we are at 92% of the families connected with us on DoJo.
Throughout the year Mr. Singer will post pictures on our pictures page of the website too. Check out what is going on in the classroom. He also post what is going on on twitter through the Twitter handle @MrSingerClass.
BONUS: Each week we will put a challenge on here for any parent or student to try. All you have to do is give a response by Monday in the assignment notebook for us to see. If the answer is correct the student will receive $50 towards their checking account. Good Luck!
Tuesday was May Day. What is the significance of that holiday?
