News from the Math Department (By Marissa): In math we go on this website called xtra math and it helps us learn different math problems. We have a choice to do this each week.
News from the Reader’s Workshop Department (By Fallon) This week in Reader’s Workshop we were given a book and the people in our little group have the same book. I am in group 1. Our group has the book Eight Keys by Suzanne LaFleur. Our group’s goal was to get to chapter 10 from Thursday to Sunday. It is only Friday and I am already on chapter 13. So far in the book this girl named Elise, found out her mother had died when Elise was born and her father had raised her from then on. Her father got sick and she went to live with her Aunt Bessie and her Uncle Hugh. When Elise is playing in her barn, she discovers the first key. Read the book to finish the story………...
News from the Music Department (By Analisa): This week in Music we are singing our concert songs. The songs are called… For The Winter, Three Ships, and We will Jingle. Also we are adding instruments in We Will Jingle. We are adding drums and Jingle bells. The Jingle song is like the song We Will Rock You, but this one is about christmas time. We have conert spots tallest to shortest. The songs the music teacher chose this year is actually pretty cool. I always have the songs stuck in my head.

I have completed my check of Skyward sign-ins. Next week a letter will be going home if you did not check Skyward for progress report grades thus far. It is your responsibility to check your student’s grades twice a trimester, at least 6 times a year. If you need hard copies please let me know. Email me at [email protected].
Please make sure you make some time to check the Trailside newsletter as well. Please click on the link located on the homepage of our class website.
Book orders are due by next Friday, the 15th, for this month. Books make great stocking stuffers (if stores can have holiday stuff out already, I should start too).
Dates to consider: November 27th is an early release day where the students leave at 11:30. We are then off on the 28th and 29th. For other upcoming important dates, including days off, Market Day pick up, etc. go to our Calendar.
I wanted to inform everyone of one more communication tool that I implemented into our school community to use. Along with the Remind101 text system we now have a Twitter account for the class. Go to www.twitter.com/mrsingerclass to see news and updates from the school day, etc. I am posting pictures, reminders, educational resources, etc. You can also gain access by clicking on the Twitter tab in the top right corner of our website, www.mrsinger.weebly.com. PLEASE stay connected to what we are doing in our classroom.
If you want to know more about what is going on in the Trailside PTO, please see their website too. You can find information about items like the Trailside gear sales, and more!
